The Who & The Why

Marilyn Hunter-Thompson had been dedicated passiontae and loving nurse for 27 years, during her passing in 2020. At the top of Texarkana College of 1994, Mrs Marilyn-Hunter Thompson earned her vocational Nursing licening.

Ready to get to work she packed up, moved to Dallas, and began working in a Long Term facility on the memory ward. Mrs. Marilyn Hunter-Thompson had an exemplary work ethic.

While mastering being a supportive wife, mother, working full time at the Long Term facility she found new love in Home Health and quickly picked up an additional job. She was the angel of Home Health and was quickly healing dozens of patients in their own homes. Her love in the field of home heath became larger than life itself, especially when her patients expressed gratitude. She didn't consider her clients patients but more as family and she loved them wholeheartedly.

in 2005, she decided to pursue a higher education, enrolled in El Centro College and completed her degree to become a Registered Nurse in 2006.

She continued to work as a Home Health nurse but also decided to step out on faith and open her own Home Health agency, Faith and Family Healthcare Solutions in 2009.

Although a small company, it was mighty and she prided herself on the work she did and opened the doors for many who had a dream and passion like her, which allowed her to offer several jobs to others.

Mrs. Marilyn Hunter-Thompson had "healing hands" and could heal a wound in half the time the doctor diagnosed. She possessed a passion for nursing and was an all-around caregiver in her personal and professional life.

As a nurse, Mrs. Marilyn Hunter-Thompson instantly became an inspiration to those around her. She had a pure heart made of gold, which was infectious. She was far from standard and those around her noticed those positive attributes quickly.

As Maya Angelgu quoted: "They may forget your name, bat they will never forget how you made them feel." Mrs. Marilyn Hunter-Thompson prided herself in ensuring every single patient felt cared for and nurtured and because of her diligence and with God's helping hands we can honor her memory with a scholarship in. hopes to ignite the same spark in our future nurses.

We believe in the power of aspiring nurses to embrace their potential, define their future, and contribute to transforming the healthcare landscape.
